About
The Barrie School of Dance is dedicated to providing an atmosphere of camaraderie, positive energy, and excellence in training. Using dance as a tool, we challenge our students to explore their passion and achieve their highest potential.
We offer a variety of classes for kids ages 3 and up. Our friendly and professional staff work to create a safe and engaging environment for each dancer. With both the recreational and competitive programs, there is something to suit all levels of commitment.
Our goal is to inspire our dancers to gain confidence and a passion for dance in a team-like environment.

To culminate our dance season each year at The Barrie School of Dance we host our Annual Dance Recital held at Eastview Arena.

Studio Picture Day
Held each year during the month of April, we have invited private dance photographer Larry Dizenhouse to join us for a weekend full of photography fun! Costumes typically arrive in late winter/early spring in time for this special weekend which helps capture a glimpse of your dancer’s year with their BSD friends and family. Picture Day Schedules and information are distributed to studio members approximately a month prior to our annual Picture Day.

Community Involvement
At The Barrie School of Dance, we pride ourselves on the importance of giving back to our community all year round. Some of our events and initiatives include:
- Annual Holiday Performance @ Woods Park Care Centre
- Annual Holiday Charity Drive supporting Barrie Animal Centre – OSPCA, Christmas Cheer Barrie, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and Barrie Food Bank
- Celebration of Dance
- Fundraisers for Black Coalition for AIDS Prevention and The Get Real Movement
- Hosts of Canada’s National Ballet School Audition Tour
- Sponsorship and support of local dance and art projects across the city, including Simcoe Contemporary Dancers and DARK Dance Company
